Niklas Sörling first joined Hasopor as a summer worker alongside his studies. Since then he has grown into a key expert in production technology, maintenance and process development, someone who knows the furnaces, lines, equipment and production process down to the smallest detail. “What fascinates me in this work is that there is always something new to learn,” he says
A career grown from curiosity
Niklas became interested in foam glass from the first moment: “I saw that the product had something unique, both in its environmental benefits and in its technical potential.” When he later took part in several major projects, such as the construction of new furnace lines, his interest deepened even further.
In his current role Niklas leads the maintenance team, plans process development and looks for ways to optimize production. The work combines technical problem‑solving with people leadership. “I have learned a lot about automation, maintenance planning and how to improve production reliability. At the same time I have gained a deeper understanding of leadership and collaboration between different teams.”
The company’s growth and joining Foamit Group have brought new requirements and opportunities. Niklas says that development in systems, reporting and shared ways of working has taken a major leap forward.
Team spirit built on humility and support
Niklas appreciates the atmosphere in Hasopor’s production. “We approach work with humility toward our own and each other’s strengths. It is easy to ask for help here, and help is given willingly.”
Teams work closely together, and over the years the team spirit has only grown stronger. He feels that developing production is genuinely a joint effort, and that is motivating.
Safety as a foundation for everything
Safety is part of Niklas’s work every week. “We do safety work throughout the year. It is not just instructions, but a culture where everyone feels responsible.”
In recent years Hasopor has invested heavily in safety systems, automation and better measurement. For example, the shift from manual measurements to automated ones has been one of the most memorable development steps for him: “It helped us understand the process on a completely new level and make production more energy‑efficient.”
Foamit Group’s shared safety practices and HSEQ requirements have strengthened operations even further.
Looking to the future with a desire for more strategic development
When thoughts turn to the future, Niklas says thoughtfully: “If I could wish for something, it would be more time for strategic development and a little less for daily operational work.”
After nearly ten years in the same role he feels that the next step would be to use his deep process expertise more widely across Foamit Group. “It would be great to influence how production and technology develop in the long term.”
